Laparoscopic Oophorectomy

A laparoscopic oophorectomy is a minimally invasive procedure to remove one (unilateral oophorectomy) or both ovaries (bilateral oophorectomy).  The most common reasons why I would perform this procedure would be if you were experiencing the following conditions:

  • Benign ovarian tumors or cysts
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Borderline tumours of the ovary
  • Endometriosis
  • Severe infection of the tube or ovary
  • Ovarian torsion (adnexal torsion)
